Hungary - Ministry of Agriculture

The Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) is the department of the Hungarian government responsible for agrarian policy, food chain control, food industry, land management, real estate-registration, cartography, forestry, game management, fisheries, environmental protection and nature conservation.

The main tasks of the ministry are legislation, strategic planning, policy development and coordination of implementation, supervision and control, information provision and international cooperation, coordination of research, development and innovation on the above fields as well as supervision of vocational training institutions belonging to the portfolio of the ministry.

MoA is responsible for the biannual reporting on the implementation of the National Sustainable Development Strategy to the Parliament.

In order to accomplish its tasks MoA cooperates with local governments, the academia, the business sector and NGOs.
