Evaneos was created in 2009 with the goal of revolutionizing the travel industry, with a simple model: through a marketplace, connecting travelers directly with a meticulously selected and constantly evaluated community of expert local agents around the world. They are dedicated to making travel a source of positive impact. Together, we craft extraordinary and one-of-a-kind trips that are both unique to each traveler and in respect of local cultures and communities. By choosing Evaneos, travelers not only support an alternative and more ethical model for the industry but see the cost of their trip directly benefit local economies - with Evaneos, at least 85% of the amount of each trip goes directly to local economies.

In the framework of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, Evaneos commits to:
  • Encouraging its affiliated organisations and businesses or partners, including more than 500 SME tour operators worldwide to join the GTPI through their website. They also award higher status to partners with proof of sustainability commitments.
  • Advising and guiding affiliated organisations and businesses or partners to better manage plastics in their operations through a B2B plastic reduction guide for SME tour operators that they are producing. This will be shared with all their partners agencies in 2022. They will also be collecting traveller feedback about which of our partners excel in terms of organising trips that successfully protect local environments and will reward these agencies with better business volume and better placement on their website.
  • Communicating successes to affiliated organisations and businesses, partners, travellers, and key local stakeholders through the plastics reduction guide for SME tour operators and their annual Better Trips Impact report.
