Water Footprint and its relation to the consumer

To inform about the water footprint, water management and the role of consumers in relation to the protection of water resources.

The water footprint is an environmental indicator that defines the volume of water used to produce goods and services such as bottles, cars, computers, clothes, among others that are used on a daily basis, in order to know how much water it costs to manufacture products. This indicator serves to raise awareness and understanding of the water consumption we need in all our activities. It also serves as a benchmark for water use in order to assess where it should be used and thus have better water efficiency management. The target audience of the event was consumers as they are the ones who play a role in the care and protection of water resources.
