The Chloride Free Ambassadors

  • Published on February 15, 2022

The Chloride Free Foundation is working to tackle both climate and biodiversity loss crises by promoting soil biodiversity, and the involvement of youth is vital to achieve this goal.

The Chloride Free Ambassadors is a community of young, motivated people working to reverse climate change and to bring awareness about the importance of soil organisms.

By becoming a Chloride Free Ambassador, young people are volunteering some of their time and skills to help fight climate change and biodiversity loss and they can choose in which way you want to contribute. The Ambassadors participate in a workshop and training about soil biodiversity and other related topics and receive further educational content.

They don’t yet have a launch date for the next Ambassador Program as they are working on improving the programme and studying ways to support local action.

By the end of the program young people have not only built their knowledge about soil biodiversity and sustainable agriculture, they are also equip to help raise awareness and educate other people about the importance of these hidden organisms both for climate regulation and food security (including working closely with farmers to help them promote soil biodiversity and soil health). They will also be able to make informed decisions when buying agricultural products/food products.

The first program ran from September to November 2021 It had around 20 participants from all over the world e.g. Brazil, Canada, USA, Pakistan, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, Cameroon, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Kenya. By the end of the program the participants were asked to develop their own action plan to help guide them advocate/ promote soil biodiversity.
