Tourism industry supports more than 10% of our economy with over 2million Kenyans directly employed in the sector with Kenya Coast having the largest share. However the tourism industry is facing emminet threat as aresult of climate change and global warming. For use to protect jobs , livelihoods and the economy it is imperative that we direct our activities and actions towards sustainable tourism by deliberately transiting to low carbon business solutions as well as integrate nature based solutions in tourism business. Kenya Coast Tourists association being the private sector umbrella body is committed driving advocacy programs aimed at achieving the climate action as well as working with stakeholders in developing and implementing COP26 pathways and commitments in the tourism industry.
