WEBINAR: ECOS ‘Making Sustainable Products the Norm’

Join this event on 17 June 2:00 - 3:30 PM CEST

DATE: 17 June 2021

TIME: 2:00pm – 3:30pm (CEST)

ECOS is celebrating 20 years of advocating for environmentally friendly technical standards and policies. To mark the occasion, ECOS is organizing a conference that will explore how the Sustainable Products Initiative can transform the way products are designed.

The conference will open with a keynote speech by Virginijus Sinkevičius, European Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries. This will be followed by a panel discussion that aims to explore how we can change how products are designed, and the key role the EU has to play as a global leader in promoting sustainable production and consumption, a fundamental element in the fight against climate change and promoting a circular economy.

The webinar will also provide an international perspective to the EU’s plans to expand ecodesign to more products, and how this can be a race to the top to make sustainable products the norm globally. In addition, the role standards play will be investigated, especially how they can help supporting ambitious policy and legislation in response to global environmental challenges.
