UNEP is organising in partnership with Equality in Tourism a webinar series on gender equality and tourism. This first event is called Integrating gender equality in tourism operations: Why and How.

Background information: The travel and tourism industry is one of the largest and most dynamic industries in today’s global economy and a very important employer of women, youth and minorities. However, all is not equal in tourism. From the pay, working conditions, impacts and consequences women bare an uneven and unfair burden. This seminar series will explore why and how gender equality can be integrated into tourism operations and why this is imperative for sustainable tourism.
