CIB World Buildings Congress 2022

CIB is pleased that the World Building Congress (WBC2022) will be hosted at RMIT University in Melbourne between 27 - 30 June 2022. The conference will proceed with a hybrid format, with attendees able to attend both in-person or online. ​The CIB (International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction) is a global network of researchers and industry professionals working together to improve building processes and enhance the performance of the built environment.  Every three years, the CIB holds the World Building Congress (WBC) to connect the international building community, discuss the latest research, share insights and inspiration to improve projects worldwide, and create lasting networks for future collaboration. WBC2022 will showcase the work of the CIB Working Commissions and Task Groups and include:

  • sessions focusing on the ongoing research of our global members
  • thematic keynotes and industry sessions
  • feature presentations on state-of-the art infrastructure and building projects currently under construction around Melbourne, including:
    • the Melbourne Metro
    • road tunnels and freeway projects
    • rail separations
    • high-rise buildings for housing and commercial purposes

Professor Usha Iyer-Raniga is at the School of Property and Construction Management at RMIT University. Usha is co-leading the One Planet Network’s Sustainable Buildings and Construction Programme (SBC), United Nations 10 Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production (UN 10FYP SCP) aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 12, as well as the newly formed Integrated Platform for Circular Economy, Climate Resilience, and Energy.  

Usha presented three papers that are directly related to the work of the OPN SBC programme.
