  • Published on November 4, 2014
Owned by its community of users, SustainabilityXchange is an interactive online platform which facilitates collaboration, and knowledge and resource sharing in the area of sustainable value chains development and trade. Its mission is to serve as a one-stop-shop for everyone working in the agriculture, aquaculture and forestry sectors. It aims to help increase participation of agricultural producers from developing countries and emerging markets in (certified/verified) sustainable trade. The SustainabilityXchange supports these agribusinesses and producers to improve their organizational capacity and ability to control quality.
The platform fills an important need for knowledge-pooling on sustainable production and trade to move towards a greener global economy. The SustainabilityXchange aims to be a single entry point for all kinds of stakeholders and specifically for providers of capacity building services to share materials and find other high-quality capacity building material and resources. SustainabilityXchange features five easily accessible services: (1) a library on documentation and training material, (2) a calendar of upcoming training events, (3) a directory of trainers, consultants and other services, (4) a discussion forum, and (5) a newsroom collecting the latest news on sustainable value chains. A start-up on-line platform with a rising number of users. First moderated forum discussion (“How to efficiently organize large numbers of smallholders?”) rolled out on 30th October 2014.
