Prerequisites for an increased holistic material perspective

The purpose of the project has been to study and identify conditions and different possible ways from a government perspective move from a waste perspective to a holistic and material perspective. This is based on a consensus in society, companies and among researchers that a holistic and material perspective can create greater opportunities to build functioning circular systems that contribute to sustainability than what a focus on waste and recycling can do within the circular economy.
Basis for a clear policy for the balance between non-toxic and resource-efficient has been developed. Basis for taking a position on how the policy for risk assessments can be developed and clarified on the basis of risk assessments in other areas. Knowledge to assess how producer responsibility as a means of increasing circularity and resource efficiency can be developed has been developed. Decision makers have a better basis for making decisions, which results in better informed decisions The area's actors have better knowledge of how policy initiatives can affect the development of the innovation area and how they can contribute to the change. They also have a better knowledge of what tools and other support are available in the work and can thus more easily implement changes in their respective areas. That policy has changed in such a way that sustainability and innovative solutions and systems benefit and that this contributes to RE: Source vision: Through innovation, Sweden is a pioneering country for material use within the planet's borders.
