Through our Monsoon Wooding 2019 campaign , Swechha planted, promoted and protected over 8,000 native trees across Delhi/NCR, with a survival rate of 85-90%. Each of these plantations have been carried out with the support of hundreds of citizens of Delhi, our youth volunteers, as well as in collaboration with local government authorities and resident welfare associations. Some of the key activities undertaken as part of the project included identification of spaces, collaboration with government authorities and civil society members, procurement of native tree saplings, design and development of communication materials, plantation of over 8000 trees across 7 different locations within Delhi/NCR. Our plantations and urban afforestation initiatives have not only involved the support of thousands of volunteers, but have also helped in significantly reducing temperatures and improving air quality in surrounding neighbourhoods. Each of these plantations are monitored regularly by our on-ground staff and Swechha ensures a healthy survival rate until maturity and sustainability of trees planted each year. In the past decade, through our annual Monsoon Wooding Campaign, we have planted over 60,000 native trees, created several fruit forests and regenerative native forests across Delhi/NCR, with a healthy survival rate of 85-90%.
