HOP Durability Summit

  • Published on January 8, 2021
HOP organized a "Durability Summit" (via digital channel) introduced by the French Minister of ecological transition: more than 1400 people watched the various round tables during the morning (on durability in Europe, or on firms and durability for instance), and several hundreds took part to the participative challenges during the afternoon via Zoom (on various such as eco conception, refurbishing, durability index, etc).
5 years after the programmed obsolescence offense was introduced in French law and the association HOP was created, HOP wanted to organize a summit on how durability issue has been taken into account. The mains objectives were to gather and federate the different stakeholders of durability in France, to do a review of what has be done and needs to be done, including at European level. Finally, the goal was also to enable stakeholder, businesses and citizens to meet each other and present their ideas. Indeed 6 participative workshops were organised during the afternoon on specific issues to be improved. - Better understanding and visibility for HOP activities and more broadly durability and reparability issues and stakeholders - In the context of the French AGEC law enforcement, remind the importance of durability topic and need for action - Enable meetings and exchange between stakeholders
