Determining the potential of economic entities in industrial city zones for the development of industrial symbiosis with the proposal of a software solution for implementation support
Develop a model for determining the potential of economic entities in industrial city zones for the development of industrial symbiosis with a proposal for a software solution for implementation support.
One of the main drivers of the circular economy model and the transition to sustainable consumption and production are certainly companies and their production activities. The transition to sustainable production implies changing production processes through new business models, such as the circular economy. By implementing the circular economy model, sustainable economic growth is enabled, where the generation of waste and pollution is minimized by keeping the value of products and materials longer in use.
The proposed pilot circular economy model, in the Pirot industrial zone, enables companies to orientate their production to the resources and raw materials available within the analyzed system. The use of identified available resources within the analyzed system, along with the gradual adjustment of production processes, will enable the transition to sustainable production. Also, the application of the circular economy model in the Pirot industrial zone will increase the efficiency of using waste as a resource, and thus reduce the amount of waste that is disposed of at the landfill.
