Norway’s strategy for developing a green, circular economy contributes to: achieving environmental goals and UN's sustainable development goals, value creation and green competitiveness. The strategy underlines the promotion of a more circular economy through sustainable production and product design, through comsumption, comsumer rights, services and public procurements. It also contributes to enhancing the role of the recycling industry and non-toxic material cycles. It includes action for the sectors that have been identified as having the greatest potential for circulartiy and green competitiveness in Norway and prioritized value chains. The policy objective is to take a long-term perspective for sustainable management of our resources, and to limit the growth in waste generation in Norway, but increased resource efficiency and reduced emissions.

Norway’s strategy for developing a green, circular economy includes specific action points for the sectors that have been identified as having the greatest potential for circularity and green competitiveness in Norway: the bio-based sectors; the process industries; construction and buildings; and service industries, including retail and wholesale trade.
