FSI Edu THE FOOD SUSTAINABILITY INDEX AS AN EDUCATIONAL TOOL

Based on the Food Sustainability Index (FSI), which studies the nutritional challenges, the sustainability of agricultural systems and the food waste and loss in 67 countries around the world, FSI Edu is an educational module intended for university lecturer to make the great complexity of the food sustainability understandable in the classroom, identifying the challenges and good practices in place.
Based on the Food Sustainability Index (FSI), which studies the nutritional challenges, the sustainability of agricultural systems and the food waste and loss in 67 countries around the world, FSI Edu is an educational module intended for university lecturer to make the great complexity of the food sustainability understandable in the classroom, identifying the challenges and good practices in place. The FSI Edu educational module can be implemented both in person and remotely by accessing the complete toolkit of materials and following the instructions in the manual. A manual with instructions for the lecturer on how to use the tool, a series of informative materials, including reading and teaching resources and all the instructions for an initial and final knowledge assessment questionnaire for the class; Simple slides to support the lecturer in using the tool: including theoretical preparation on food sustainability issues, instructions for introducing the Food Sustainability Index tool in the classroom and complete guidelines for interactive workshops in the classroom; Four video tutorials that guide the lecturer through the different sections of the workshop teaching and interaction module; An excel workbook containing all the data relating to the latest edition of the Food Sustainability Index, to be used and explored during the workshops. The FSI Edu module is recommended and can be used for both undergraduate and graduate courses. It can be used on all types of fields degree courses and is particularly suitable for Agricultural Economics, Food Studies, Environmental Engineering, Tourism and Hotel Management, Nutrition Sciences and Geography. So far, the FSI Edu module has been tested with around 200 students around the world, both online and in person.
