The Asia-Pacific GPPEL project “Strengthening the capacities and improving the knowledge on green public procurement and ecolabelling in the Asia-Pacific region”, co-funded by China's Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP), and the Korean Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (KEITI) started in 2013 and mainly aims at strengthening sustainable public procurement and ecolabelling in the Asia-Pacific region, based on the expertise of China, Japan and South Korea in the combined use of SPP and ecolabelling.
This is the presentation from the Asia-Pacific GPP & Ecolabelling Webinar on the "Linkages between GPP & Ecolabelling", held on July 29, 2016, focused on the experience of China and Japan in the combined use of green public procurement and ecolabelling.

Regional cooperation on ecolabelling under the SPPEL project – Asia Pacific
Main goal: Develop common core criteria (CCC) that could be used voluntarily by all stakeholders in the region for: public/private procurement, standards, and ecolabels.
Activity 1: Identify key opportunities for pilot products for the Asia Pacific region based on:
Potential to reduce environmental impacts
Relevance for GPP and trade
Existing CCC and ongoing work in the region and need for further collaboration on CCC for specific products
Existing MRA, etc.
