About my work

I am holding a master in economies and tourism and started working in 1983 in the field of environmentally sustainable tourism development in Europe. In 1993 I co-founded and since then I am chairing the European network for sustainable tourism development ECOTRANS, registered as a not-for-profit association. I am managing the global independent knowledge networking portal for sustainable & responsible tourism, registered as partnership for the SDG2030, with a focus on SDG12 for sustainable consumption and production. I have co-founded and been member of the board of the GSTC, designed, coordinated and contributed to many European partnership projects for the development of sustainable and ecotourism. My special knowledge and expertise is on voluntary initiatives and tools for sustainable tourism, including all certification programmes for busineses, tour operators and destinations worldwide.
