About my work

Helena Rey has been working at UN Environment Economy Division since 2005. She works at the Consumption and Production Unit, and is responsible for mainstreaming sustainable consumption and production patterns in tourism value chains. She represents UN Environment at the multi advisory committee programme on sustainable tourism within the 10 Years Framework Programme on Sustainable Consumption and Production, and manage the tourism portfolio within UN Environment. She currently manages the project Transforming Tourism Value Chains to lower GHG emissions in Small Islands Development States. She is also responsible for the development and management of the Green Passport Campaign, and has implemented this in 7 destinations worldwide in cooperation with key stakeholders. Ms Rey has more than 15 years experience working as a project manager in South America, and Africa.
