About my work

Gustavo Piga holds a PhD in Economics from Columbia University and is a Full Professor of Economics at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, where he chairs the Master’s in Procurement Management and the International Master’s in Public Procurement Management programmes funded by the EBRD and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He chaired the Italian Procurement Agency for Goods and Services, Consip, between 2002 and 2005. His fields of expertise are public procurement, corruption, macroeconomics and public debt management. He is the author of several scientific papers and editor of several books, including the Handbook of Procurement, Cambridge University Press, with Nicola Dimitri and Giancarlo Spagnolo; Revisiting Keynes: Economic Possibilities for our Grandchildren, MIT Press, with Lorenzo Pecchi and recently of The Applied Law and Economics of Public Procurement, with Steen Treumer, Routledge.
