About my work

The development of sustainable small scale urban farms is crucial to achieving sustainable food systems into the future. Building on ancient cultural farming practices that celebrate the magnificent biodiversity of ancient culinary traditions directly contributes to building moisture retentive soils and the preservation of a multitude of bacteria and other organisms that sequestrate carbon amongst other things. The short link supply chains inherent in many ancient cultures provide insight into the possibilities of future distribution models that include the development of work opportunities and the emergence of multiple small scale businesses. We celebrate these traditional farming practices and encourage the emergence of small scale farms that are true to agriculture-ecology principles while celebrating plant and soil biodiversity.
