About my work

Dr. Loconto is a Senior Researcher in the Interdisciplinary Laboratory Science, Innovation and Society (LISIS) at the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) and a Visiting Scientist in Sustainable Trade at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). She currently serves as an Executive Committee member of the International Sociological Association (ISA). She was previously a Science, Technology and Society Fellow at Harvard University. Her work studies the governance of transitions to sustainable food systems, with a specific focus on sustainability metrics, standards and certification; social and responsible innovations; and alternative value chains. She is the lead author of three recent internationally comparative studies: Participatory Analysis of the Use and Impact of the Fairtrade Premium (FTI, 2019), Constructing Markets for Agroecology (FAO, 2018), and Innovative markets for sustainable agriculture (FAO, 2016).
