Responsible Procurement Barometer 2020

The 2020 Barometer enables organizations in Québec and Canada to objectively self-assess and compare themselves to their peers and over time. In keeping with the political commitment to contribute to the attainment of sustainable development, the 2020 Barometer also evaluates the contribution of sustainable procurement to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set out by the United Nations Environment Pro- gramme (UNEP).

The 2020 Barometer enables organizations in Québec and Canada to objectively self-assess and compare themselves to their peers and over time. In keeping with the political commitment to contribute to the attainment of sustainable development, the 2020 Barometer also evaluates the contribution of sustainable procurement to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set out by the United Nations Environment Pro- gramme (UNEP). The first part of the 2020 Barometer details the methodology, indicators and components of sustainable pro- curement. The second presents the results and detailed analyses of four aspects: contribution of sustainable procurement to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (Section 2.1), positioning of Canadian or- ganizations with regard to sustainable procurement (Section 2.2), governance changes within organizations to provide a sustainable procurement framework (Section 2.3) and approaches and tools used to operationa- lize it (Section 2.4).
