Worldwide Association of Diving Instructors

Founded in 2021, the Worldwide Association of Diving Instructors (WADI) offers diving classes for all levels. WADI aims to protect the environment by educating its divers about safety and the environment. WADI notably has two goals: firstly, reducing pollution and saving land and water and secondly, raising awareness and promoting responsible diving practices.

Commitments:

In the framework of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, the Worldwide Association of Diving Instructors commits to:
  • Encouraging its affiliated organisations and businesses or partners to join the GTPI by advertising and providing information about the GTPI through its mailing list and adding inks to the GTPI in its e-learning system in the first 6 months after their signature.
  • Advising and guiding affiliated organisations and businesses or partners to better manage plastics in their operations through practices, criteria, standards and/or policies, and support them to implement their commitments to the GTPI by raising individuals’ awareness through its educational system, and clarifying the other resources that divers, dive centres, and diving boats should use rather than plastic.
  • Communicating successes to affiliated organisations and businesses, partners, travellers, and key local stakeholders through holding and publishing events.
