Sykes Holiday Cottages
We're one of the UK's leading independent holiday cottage rental agencies with over 30 year's experience in the business.
We offer over 22,000 holiday homes throughout the UK, Ireland and New Zealand - from cosy cottages for two to larger properties sleeping 20 or more. Whether you're after some peace and quiet in the countryside or a relaxing hot tub weekend away, there's something for everyone.
Our purpose is to create happy holiday memories while making a positive social and environmental impact.
Our Impact mission
Our impact on people and the planet is just as important to us as shareholder profit. We want to make sure we do our bit to create a cleaner, greener and fairer future for all by introducing new ways of working that make a positive social and environmental impact.
As part of our impact mission, we are making four pledges
- Plant 1 million trees by 2024 - Working with planting partners to protect habitats and biodiversity, supporting local initiatives for our staff to get involved in, as well as large-scale tree planting projects.
- Inspire and enable 100% of our team to volunteer every year - Every member of the Sykes Family can take two days paid leave every year to volunteer at a charity or community initiative of their choice to make a positive impact.
- Enable 1,000 disadvantaged families to go on holiday, every year - We want to make a difference to families going through tough times and will be working with specialist partners and our owners to make this happen.
- Become a carbon neutral business by 2024 - We’re committed to making a positive environmental impact and changing the way we work to combat climate change.
Working alongside Tourism Declares, Sykes Holiday Cottages pledges to work with all stakeholders to reform tourism in order to achieve effective climate action.
We aim to support the global goal of halving emissions by 2030 and achieving net-zero emissions as soon as feasible before 2050.
And, we will continually align our actions with the most recent scientific guidelines, ensuring that our strategy stays compatible with a 1.5°C rise beyond pre-industrial levels by 2100.
