I am a Sustainability Consultant for the Hospitality Industry and work with Tourism Noosa in Sustainable Tourism.  I am here to learn from others and to share our stories.

Some of our initiatives of Green Travel include: Plastic Free Noosa, Sustainable Events programme, and Trees for Tourism.  We support many local programmes such as Zero Emissions Noosa, the Kabi Kabi Indigenous recognition programmes, Noosa World Surfing Reserve and the Noosa Biosphere as well as Slow Food Noosa, Noosa Integrated Catchment Association and Noosa Parks, all with a view of protecting our pristine environment, see below:

Plastic Free Noosa 

In Noosa we take our pristine environment seriously and protect what we love. Plastic Free Noosa is a whole-of-community plan which aims to eliminate single-use plastics and replace them with environmentally friendly alternatives.

You will find many businesses in Noosa proudly showcasing their Plastic Free Noosa Champion Award. This means that these businesses have successfully eliminated 6 priority plastic items: Water bottles, coffee cups and lids, straws, plastic bags, foodware and takeaway containers.

The Plastic Free Noosa initiative has achieved impressive numbers since its start in 2017:

4.5million pieces of single-use plastic eliminated - and counting!
