Nap Manor Hostel strives to become one step closer to being plastic-free in the coming year. The hostel already has recycling bins, reuses all plastics that arrive at the hostel, adopted water saving mechanisms and other social activities like planting trees in Mumbai to try its best to reduce their carbon footprint.

Commitments:

In the framework of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, Nap Manor Hostel commits to: 

  • Eliminating plastic packaging and plastic items from their rooms by 2022. 

  • Eliminating containers for cleaning products from their food and drink services by 2022. 

  • Eliminating cling films from their service areas by 2022. 

  • Introducing reusable solutions to replace plastic packaging and plastic items in their rooms by 2022. 

  • Introducing reusable solutions to replace single-portion or single-serving packaging in their food and drink services by 2022. 

  • Introducing reusable solutions to replace single-portion or single-serving packaging, containers for cleaning products, and cling films in their kitchens by 2022. 

  • Engaging the value chain to provide data on recyclability and compostability of plastic packaging to facilitate the move towards 100% of plastic packaging to be reusable, recyclable, or compostable by 2025.

  • Taking action to increase the amount of recycled content across all plastic packaging and items used by 2025 to reach 100% recycled content on average by weight. 

  • Collaborating with others and investing in the collection and segregation of recyclable and organic materials in their facilities to help increase recycling and composting rates in practice.
