Indonesian Waste Platform

The Indonesian Waste Platform is a co-owned national stakeholder association. Established in 2015,  the Indonesian Waste Platform is Indonesia’s waste think tank. In 2018, it got registered as an Association. The scope of the platform's work is the response to the call for action on SDG17 through mapping of stakeholders and their programs, promoting and facilitating cross-sector collaborations, promoting synergy between stakeholders, capacity building, environmental education as well as promoting stakeholder engagement in national action plans and strategies. Participating stakeholders are governmental organisations, the Indonesian recycling sector, brand-owners, the Indonesian Packaging Federation, NGO's, educators, academia, Universities & student groups, local champions and international organisations.

In the framework of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, the Indonesian Waste Platform commits to:

Encouraging affiliated organisations and businesses or partners to join the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative through dissemination on their discussion forums as well as encouraging stakeholders of their network network to join.
Advising and guiding affiliated organisations and businesses or partners to better manage plastics in their operations through dissemination on their discussion forums and encouraging stakeholders to join strategic approach developed by the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative
Communicating successes through the dissemination of news on a daily basis via their stakeholder discussion forums in Indonesia and on the International Waste Platform.
