Humura Resorts Uganda

Humura Resorts Uganda, founded in 2007, aims to create heartfelt experiences for guests and a positive impact in the communities around. They are following the ISO 14001, with Switch Green Africa in cooperation with GAIKER and Turn Green project.

Commitments:

In the framework of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, Humura Resorts Uganda commits to: 

  • Eliminating plastic packaging, plastic items, single-portion or single-serving packaging, containers for cleaning products from their kitchens by 2025. 

  • Eliminating plastic packaging, plastic items, single-portion or single-serving packaging, containers for cleaning products, and cling films from their bathrooms by 2025. 

  • Eliminating plastic packaging, plastic items, single-portion or single-serving packaging, containers for cleaning products, and cling films from their rooms by 2025. 

  • Eliminating all types of plastic from their property by 2025. 

  • Introducing reusable solutions to replace plastic packaging, plastic items, single-portion or single-serving packaging, containers for cleaning products in their food and drink services by 2025. 

  • Introducing reusable solutions to replace plastic packaging, plastic items, single-portion or single-serving packaging, containers for cleaning products in their bathrooms by 2025. 

  • Introducing reusable solutions to replace plastic packaging, plastic items, single-portion or single-serving packaging, containers for cleaning products in their service areas by 2025. 

  • Introducing reusable solutions to replace plastic packaging, plastic items, single-portion or single-serving packaging, containers for cleaning products in their cleaning services by 2025. 

  • Engaging the value chain to provide data on recyclability and compostability of plastic packaging to facilitate the move towards 100% of plastic packaging to be reusable, recyclable, or compostable by 2025.

  • Taking action to increase the amount of recycled content across all plastic packaging and items used by 2025. 

  • Collaborating with others and investing in the collection and segregation of recyclable and organic materials in their facilities to help increase recycling and composting rates in practice.
