Green House Hotel

The Green House is simply a Grade II Victorian villa in the heart of Bournemouth. Their founders say they “eat, sleep and breathe sustainability”. The hotel have been recognized as one of the world’s top eco-hotels and aims at becoming SUP-free.

In the framework of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, Green House Hotel commits to:
  • Eliminate from kitchens cling film by 2024
  • Eliminate from food and drink services plastic packaging by 2024
  • Eliminate from logistics plastic packaging by 2024
  • Introduce reusable solutions in kitchens to replace cling film by 2024
  • Introduce reusable solutions in food and drink services to replace plastic packaging by 2023
  • Introduce reusable solutions in logistics to replace plastic packaging by 2024
  • Engage the value chain to provide data on recyclability and compostability of plastic packaging to facilitate the move towards 100% of plastic packaging to be reusable, recyclable, or compostable by 2025 through engagement with SUPPLIERS to provide data on recyclability and compostability, of plastic packaging
  • Take action to increase the amount of recycled content across all plastic packaging and items used by 2025 (with on average 70% of recycled content by weight) and will do this through Engagement of SUPPLIERS to provide data on % of recycled content in plastic packaging and items.
  • Provide training and means for staff to sort solid waste (especially plastic waste), according to local regulations, sustainability standards, and/or technical guidance from waste management service provider.
