Chumbe Island Coral Park Ltd

Chumbe Island, Zanzibar, is the first private marine protected area in the world, financed through ecotourism. Since 30 years we are restoring and protecting the marine and forest ecosystems, with Chumbe becoming a biodiversity hotspot for East Africa, and a platform for learning through Chumbe's education program. Funded through our award-winning eco-designed island lodge, our operations have zero impact on the environment. We will advocate for the five pathways of the Declaration in Zanzibar (and beyond), to share our good practices and solutions to encourage climate action across the region.
