Mrs. Laura Bonilla Coto, current Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of Costa Rica, has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Finance. She has wide experience as a businesswoman in Costa Rica agricultural sector production. She has been President of Costa Rica Exporter Chamber from 2014 to April 2022. As leader of the agro-export sector she has promoted the competitiveness of Costa Rican production in the international market.
Christian Hofer has been the Director-General of the Federal Office for Agriculture (FOAG) since 1 December 2019. He was previously Head of the Bern Cantonal Office for Agriculture and Nature (LANAT) for almost two years. From 2009 to 2017, he served as an Assistant Director-General of FOAG, responsible for the Direct Payments and Rural Development Directorate. Christian Hofer grew up on a farm in Bannwil, in the Bernese Oberaargau region. He studied Agronomic Engineering (specialising in crop production) at the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, graduating in1998. He also qualified as a teacher and worked as an agricultural consultant at Inforama Rütti (Bern). From 2000 to 2003, he managed the Profi Lait office and also worked as a scientist for the Swiss Grassland Society (AGFF). In 2003, he became Head of Sales (Switzerland) at DeLaval – the Swedish manufacturer of dairy farming equipment – in Sursee (Lucerne). He also obtained an MBA in Integrated Management from Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH).
Marco Lambertini is Director General of WWF International, having first worked with WWF as a youth volunteer in his native Italy. As the head of one of the most established nature conservation organizations, he works with world leaders, corporate executives and civil society to forge a future in which people and nature thrive. He leads a global Network with over 50 years of environmental conservation successes, five million supporters, 25 million followers on social media and activities in over 100 countries. He sits on the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development and on the Board of the International Civil Society Centre.
Prior to joining WWF, he served as Chief Executive of BirdLife International where he restructured and led a highly decentralized secretariat, overseeing a global partnership of over 120 civil society organizations across the globe. Danielle Nierenberg is a co-founder of Food Tank and a globally recognized expert on sustainable agriculture and food issues. She has spoken at major conferences and events all over the world and her knowledge of global agriculture issues has been cited widely in more than 3,000 major publications including The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, the International Herald Tribune, The Washington Post, BBC, the Guardian (UK), and other major publications. Danielle previously served as the Director of the Food and Agriculture program at the Worldwatch Institute.
