The webinar on "Measuring Impacts and Communicating Benefits Created by Sustainable Public Procurement" was hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Division of Technology, Industry and Economics (DTIE), Cities and Lifestyles Unit, and co-organized with Sustaianble Purchasing Leadership Council (SPLC) and Industrial Economics, Incorporated, Iec.

This webinar was organized in the framework of the working group 2b of the Sustainable Public Procurement programme of the 10-year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production. 

 

The 2B Project Hypothesis:

Sustainable Public Procurement (SPP) practices will increase if there is a reliable way of measuring and communicating the sustainability benefits of SPP programmes.

 

The objective of the webinar was to present the results of the guidance framework that has been designed to follow the Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council guidance v1.0 steps and to present areas for future potential work on this important topic.

The One Planet Network Sustainable Public Procurement (SPP) programme is a voluntary global multi-stakeholder partnership in which various parties - governmental, non-governmental, public and private, agree to work together in a systematic way with the aim to promote and accelerate the implementation of sustainable public procurement globally as a way to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
