WEBINAR: Five approaches to circular electronics
DATE: 21st January 2021
TIME: 15.00-16.30 CET, 09.00-10.30 US Eastern, 07.00-08.30 US Pacific, 21.00-22.30 CST
Circular Electronics Day aims to encourage organizations and consumers to take a more responsible approach to the electronic goods they use. This year’s theme is lifting best practices.
Fifty million metric tonnes of e-waste is generated every year, equalling the weight of nearly 4,500 Eiffel towers, making it the world’s fastest growing waste stream. Much of it is incinerated or placed in landfills, causing pollution, human health hazards and the loss of valuable finite resources.
Participants at this webinar will get to learn from five real life cases about reducing environmental impact by circular management of electronics. The webinar is set up in two blocks, first the five cases will be presented. After that, participants will go into smaller chat rooms with one of the presenters. Here is a chance to ask your questions and discuss the details of the case.
Speakers:
- How circular economy could make the use of IT equipment sustainable
- Johan Brändström - PhD student in Circular Economy and support at 3stepIT - Driving circularity through sustainability certifications
- Clare Hobby - Director Purchaser Engagement Director, Global at TCO Development - Rethinking IT management
- Sebastian Holmström - Circular Strategy Lead at Inrego - Pragmatic circularity for tech turns industry giant and green innovator into allies
