Technical Session on the overview of measurement tools and methodologies (Morning 10:00 AM. Afternoon: 17:00 - CET)

The overview of measurement tools and methodologies is the outcome of the work which was initiated by UNWTO to identify methodologies and tools in use by tourism stakeholders to measure CO2 emissions.  The webinar will present the background and progress achieved by this project and provide an opportunity for an extended consultation with tourism stakeholders on the current overview of tools and methodologies, prior to finalizing the Technical Brief on Measuring Tourism Greenhouse Gas Emissions for release at UNFCCC COP27.

The Overview is being developed by UNWTO with support from the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection of Germany (BMU).  The research has followed a participatory approach and involved the members of the Glasgow Declaration Working Group on Capacity Building. Its preparation combines desk research identifying globally methodologies and tools with participatory approaches including expert interviews and working group sessions.
