IN CONVERSATION WITH THE LONG RUN: A PRACTICAL, JOINED UP APPROACH TO CLIMATE ACTION TRAINING
This session is part of the mini webinar series on measurement of GHG.
This conversation is with Dr Anne Kathrin Zscheigner. the Long Run Technical Assistance Advisor.
Since 2015, The Long Run has worked to help its members better understand their emissions. For many members the focus is still mostly on understanding Scopes 1 and 2, though the organisation seeks to expand this understanding for members to eventually measure Scope 3 as well. Having developed several tools over the years to help its members with these challenges, the organisation has come to the realisation that for any tool to be truly useful, it needs to be simple and practical.
The discussion will cover:
- How has your climate action developed?
- How do you approach measurement?
- What has the impact been on decarbonization?
- What has the impact been on regeneration?
- What advice would you give others considering a similar initiative?

A series of case studies have been developed featuring the efforts of several signatories of the Glasgow Declaration to advance climate action with emphasis on their approaches towards measurement and its impacts on decarbonization and regeneration.
These conversations are being held to complement the “Overview of methodologies and tools to measure greenhouse gas emissions” released in March 2023.
