Video: Mainstreaming Sustainable Affordable Housing in India
To disseminate knowledge and awareness on the magnitude of the problem of environmental degradation resulting from unprecedented construction activities. Further it indicates the future demand of housing and the scope that India has of using resource-efficient alternate building materials and construction technologies.
The activity was an enriching experience as one had to keep in mind the audience to whom the film was to be targeted at. It needs to be noted that while our communication tools are highly influenced by the needs of the policy-makers, attracting the attention of practitioners is the key challenge. There is need for more business case studies to be showcased, for developers and manufacturers to be reassured of the alternative options that are being suggested.
