Global Tourism Plastics Initiative- Newsletter - July 2021
The newsletter aims at disseminating the progress achieved by the signatories of the initiative, as well as connected relevant information. This edition features interviews from three inspiring GTPI signatories: Chumbe Island Coral Park (CHICOP) Zanzibar / Tanzania, Hostelworld Group and La Bicicleta Hostal (Nicaragua) as well as "Addressing pollution from single-use plastic products: A Life-Cycle Approach - Key messages for tourism businesses" and also "Develop robust cleaning and sanitation procedures".
Since its launch in January 2020, the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative has continuously received expressions of interest from organizations wanting to become signatories. The engagement of tourism stakeholders to address plastic pollution, even while going through the COVID-19 pandemic, not only reiterates the magnitude of the problem, but also the wish of the sector to take part in the solution.
