17 Sustainable Development Goals In One Park
The well renowned Danish architectural firm Bjarke Ingels Group, BIG (that has received a great deal of attention around the world for its unique and spectacular projects), has together with the real estate company Fabege developed a master plan and development idea for Solna Business Park in Stockholm, Sweden.
The first project is the park, which is centered around the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and Agenda 2030.
“We are humbled by the need for large and focused work in the areas where we have the greatest opportunities to contribute to sustainable development, and the global goals are a large part of our daily work. But to achieve those goals, everyone must contribute, and through the new park, we hope to increase awareness and knowledge of the important work that needs to be done”, says Susanna Elvsén, Marketing Manager for Solna Business Park at Fabege.
The park is designed with installations that in different ways supports and informs about all 17 SDGs. To make them easy to understand, Fabege has enlisted the help of the Good Life Goals, which provides simplified explanations of each SDG and can be applied by both children and adults.
“The 2030 Agenda and its 17 goals must be led by countries and so far the focus has been on measures taken by governments, but what can individuals do? This was the question when we developed The Good Life Goals. In the park, visitors can be inspired and find out what they can do in a creative way”, says Andrea Norgren, co-lead of One Planet Sustainable Lifestyles and Education Program who developed The Good Life Goals together with Futerra and WBCSD.
