More than 50 countries around the world celebrate World Ecolabel Day in October. It’s a day to focus on ecolabel products and services that are proven to be environmentally preferable and performance tested, so you are ensured the best products for your health and the health of the planet.
2020 saw events across the world celebrating World Ecolabelling Day including webinars and live online events. Social media posts were also promoted across the globe.
This initiative focuses on improving green procurement practices in the public, private and consumer sector.
Bringing together case studies and exemplary practitioners, our online forums, media releases and thought leadership pieces, grows awareness and improves knowledge and action in environmental responsible consumption solutions through growing best practice products and services. Channels for education and information include some of the following:
• Handouts
• Brochures for consumers and businesses
• Social media and web banners
• Email and blog graphics
• T-shirt and sticker designs
In regards to awareness raising, the day was very successful. Forums and webinars were held around the world in live events with hundreds in attendance varying from government and private initiatives. Others were far more consumer centric. Media packs were given to all members to distribute nationally and regionally.
Social media campaigns were promoted through the Global Ecolabelling Network and also our members, reaching more than a thousand through social media platforms in over 40 languages.
