The objective of the event is to promote traditional Rwandan ceramics by improving the work being produced and to foster an interest in ceramics by the general public. Our purpose is to maintain a representative forum for the encouragement and fostering of the art and craft of ceramics in Rwanda. Our Pottery workshop offers different kinds of courses for visitors of all ages. The techniques used can range from molding clay and sculpturing any artifacts you desire, as well as the more traditional
One approach is to work towards is to creating more sustainable methods and ways of production of our ceramic or pottery products by ensuring we are challenged to produce work that interacts between object, material and environment, questioning how these objects are produced and fit into contemporary dialogue around consumption. To assist our communities make more environmentally friendly ceramics that can pioneer the story of sustainability and By emphasizing the need for production and consumption standards that are sustainable we also adding and creating more value for the work done by the community To encourage pottery communities to adopt strategies that are global trends in order to attract sustainable consumption Our artisans have started to use fewer raw materials during production in a way to control the damage levied to the environment and there is a push in developing new concept designs Increase products durability Reduce environmental impact of production through looking into the firing process of production, waste management and cutting air emissions We now also encourage use of reusable packaging methods for our range of products we welcome interested stakeholders for future collaborations
