Sustainable Fashion? How Companies Provide Sustainability Information to Consumers
In February 2020 Health and Environment Justice Support (HEJSupport) released a report “Sustainable Fashion? How companies provide sustainability information to consumers”. The report discusses gaps in consumer accessibility to information about the sustainability of products provided by fashion brands. Analysis was conducted using the UN-Environment and ITC 2017 'Guidelines for Providing Product Sustainability Information'. For the first time the Guidelines function as an analysing tool for the whole industry sector. The report suggests a way forward that will enable consumers to become a driving force that can shape the future of sustainable textiles.
Provide recommendations for business, policy makers and consumers on how to improve product sustainability information, make it transparent, comparable, and useful to consumers. Textile and fashion industry, policy makers and consumers will work better together using the recommendations developed within the project
