Summer Performance test for Ultra-low Energy Building pilot demonstrations

  • Published on January 6, 2021
Nearly Zero Energy Buildings need performance-based design methods that integrate a variety of advanced technology systems. They have high requirements for rational design, standard construction, and optimized control capabilities of operation. At present, China and many other developed countries have successively started the construction of Nearly Zero Energy Buildings, and we want to know whether the existing design methods need to be improved, etc., the data can tell us.
In the summer of 2020, the world was experiencing scorching heat. China Academy of Building Research (short for CABR) expert group organized a summer test to check the actual performance and energy consumption of 7 Nearly Zero Energy Buildings in 4 climate zones across the country in August. To verify whether the thermal insulation performance, air-conditioning energy efficiency and indoor comfort of Nearly Zero Energy Building under different climatic conditions can still meet the ideal design conditions.
