Scientific Paper "Smart and sustainable urban development in Egypt: the case of Nabta Smart Town" for SBE19 Helsinki Conference (22-24 May 2019)
The main goal was to disseminate the results of NST Project (Sustainability Assessment of Nabta Smart Town (NST) and Actions for Improvement) to an international audience, and to generate a debate on how to ensure adaptation of the solutions for energy efficiency proposed to the local conditions. Another goal was to show how the results obtained using the methodology developed by VTT can be applicable at different scales, as well as replicated in other locations worldwide.
The presentation of NST Project results sparked a very good discussion with the audience at SBE19 Helsinki Conference. It also provided some good opportunity for networking that might lead to collaboration in the near future. And most importantly, our scientific paper received the BEST PAPER Award for its contribution to a Healthy Built Environment by the Juho Vainio Foundation.
