Report on the implementation of the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable development
Voluntary National Review of Finland describes Finland's actions and progress in 2016–2020 in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development . The report describes Finland's progress and status with regard to all sustainable development goals and targets, discusses, among other things, the implementation of the Leave no one behind principle, and opens up the means of implementation, Incorporation of the SDGs into national processes and policies, Governance for Sustainable Development, lessons learned, good practices and challenges of the implementation. The report was drawn up in broad-based cooperation between the administration and various stakeholders and civil society actors. Annex 2 The state of sustainable development in 2020 in light of indicators and comparative studies contains two sections: Resource-wise economy and carbon-neutral society and Consumption and public procurement, which focus on SCP.
Proud: The VNR of Finland builds on existing institutional, follow-up and monitoring mechanisms and relies on data, evaluations, research and reports. The VNR includes chapters written by stakeholders and institutions. Feedback: The assessment of the progress in each SDG consists of two independent assessments: one by Government officials and one by civil society actors. The Governments of Mozambique and Switzerland supported Finland in the preparation of the VNR by reviewing the draft report and sharing their views. Challenges: Finland's key challenges are relatedto consumption and production patterns, climate action and the state of biodiversity.
