Production and launch of a discussion paper: 'Citizen-generated evidence for a more sustainable and healthy food system'
To inform the public, decision makers, governments and civil society about the use of citizen generated evidence in policy making.
Hivos and IIED launched the discussion paper 'Citizen-generated evidence for a more sustainable and healthy food system' at the City University Food Policy Symposium in London on 26 April 2018. The paper intends to be a resource for civil society organisations as well as (government) policy makers in the food security field on how to meaningfully and genuinely involve citizens in policy and decision making processes by directly working with citizens themselves to generate their own data/evidence. The paper has been used in various occasions (policy dialogues, partner events) already by Hivos, IIED and local CSO partners in Bolivia, Indonesia, Uganda, Zambia, as well as in the Netherlands/internationally.
