The study revealed more about barriers and potentials for achieving sustainable use of plastics. It made it easier for the Swedish EPA and other stakeholders to take actions and measures. The Swedish EPA also initiated follow up projects to fill in the missing knowledge gap. The short version of the information material in both Swedish and English that was published in January 2020 has been very appreciated both within the Swedish EPA, since it makes it easier to disseminate the knowledge, and by other officials and target groups wanting more knowledge.
