Leading the way: responsible toruism training for tour guides and tour leaders

In response, Travel Foundation developed a training course for guides who represent these tour operators on excursions and who have direct contact with customers. The accessible, on-line course enables guides all around the world to gain an understanding of sustainable tourism and how to integrate it into their day-to-day role. Our tour operators motivate their tour leaders and guides to do the training and report on the changes in daily practices. there are 543 trained tour leaders in more than 17 countries and the results are promising: 96% of guides who completed the course said they will make changes to minimise their environmental 95% of guides who completed the course said they intend to make changes to build relationships with local communities 95% of guides who completed the course said that they will make changes to increase their positive contribution to the local economy We look at developing more specialist course and Travelife for travel companies will also use this content for their worldwide target group
