Key Performance Indicators

  • Published on January 13, 2021
The goal is to address a wide range of environmental impacts such as pollution, climate change, water quality, and resource depletion as well as social impacts such as worker health and safety, labor issues, and community rights. Key Performance Indicators allow measurement of progress against the hotspots.
THESIS offers a range interactive tools that highlight environmental and social issues relevant to a product category, practices that can be used to drive improvement on those issues, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure performance against these issues. The key performance indicators are science-based and stakeholder-informed, including input by companies, academics, civil society organizations, and government agencies. The KPIs are designed with manufacturers, suppliers, and retail buyers in mind, but address more than sustainability in manufacturing. Social and environmental hotspots throughout the product category life cycle are included, from raw material extraction to product disposal.
