A Journey of Chefs - Soweto2Sodwana Raising awareness with non-coastal chefs

Goal: To educate and empower chefs based in a non-coastal province of South Africa and help them employ best practices when it comes to sustainable seafood.
The two chefs that took the journey from Soweto2Sodwana have now become active WWF-SASSI ambassadors, have employed sustainable and responsible procurement practices. The campaign was highly successfully as it involved people being able to follow the journey of the chefs on social media (see attached social media analytics), over 80 000 people engaged with the campaign on Facebook with over 10 000 views of the video that was produced. This campaign resulted in 121 new followers on Facebook and Twitter for the programme. There was a definite challenge in selecting the chefs as the process was highly competitive.
