European Assistance for Innovation Procurement (EAFIP)
During this project a detailed toolkit on how to deploy innovation procurement has been drafted. The eafip team provided trainings and hands on legal and economic assistance (in collaboration with daughter company Vtrek) pertaining to the implementation of innovation procurement projects taking the form of Pre-Commercial Procurement and Public Procurement of Innovative solutions.
The objective of this initiative is to raise policy makers' awareness regarding the positive impacts and benefits of pre-commercial procurement (procurement of R&D services) and public procurement of innovative solutions (which moved beyond the R&D phase, into wide deployment). Additionally, eafip aims to build public procurers' capabilities and to guide them throughout the deployment of innovation procurement.
By defining a comprehensive step-wise methodology for the deployment of innovation procurement, and by providing trainings and case-based (legal and economic) assistance, eafip is supporting the shift towards a more sustainable economy. Completed activities:
- drafting of a comprehensive Toolkit on the deployment of innovation procurement
- organisation of 12 events (8 training workshops and 3 large conferences)
- legal/economic assistance to several innovation procurements The developed methodology for deployment of innovation procurement is freely available to interested public procurers.
We have reached an audience of around 1160 procurement professionals/policy-makers/academics during 9 workshops and 3 large conferences between 2015-2018.
12 innovation procurements from several European states will receive hands-on legal and economic assistance/support.
